ACE Cardiff was unable to continue with its provision when the ‘lockdown’ occurred due to the closure of all facilities and the presonal terms of the legislation approved by the Welsh Gov.
The Trustees agreed to experiment with an ‘online provision’. We were fortunate to have £3k granted to us to support this work from the Coronavirus Resilience Fund, provided by the National Emergencies Trust, administered by the Community Foundation Cymru, for this experiment in learning. It has enabled us to purchase additional staff hours, 10 Amazon Fire tablets – to support young people who have limited or no technology support – and funds to improve our online presence.
It is our intention to use some of the ESOL bid to make similar provisions for our adults classes.
