We are looking for a qualified, experienced individual to lead the delivery and development of our ESOL provision.
ACE Cardiff is a small, dynamic charity based in Butetown, Cardiff. We work to help children and adults reach their potential through a love of learning. For the last six years we have been delivering English classes for adults in the community and we are now looking to extend that provision for another four years.
The Opportunity
As the lead ESOL tutor, you will organise, plan and help deliver engaging, relevant and enjoyable classes for people who are keen to develop their English language skills. You will have the freedom to shape provision flexibly to meet your students’ needs. As part of the ACE Cardiff management team, you will spot opportunities to make further links with our work to support children’s learning. You will be able to help other tutors and volunteers develop their teaching skills in a real-life setting. You will build strong networks with our partners, helping learners to achieve their goals. You will be able to plan ahead, knowing the role is funded for the next four years.
The role is part time but you will be paid for time spent planning, liaising and supporting others involved in delivering ESOL, in addition to a standard rate (currently £22 per hour) for each hour of teaching.
What’s required
You will have experience of teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages and a relevant qualification. You will normally be available to teach on weekday mornings, when demand for classes is highest. For a full job description and person specification, please click the following link:
