This week we proudly celebrate five years of ACE Cardiff’s Learning Club (TLC), our after-school learning sessions conceived in 2010 with the goal of supporting children from the less advantaged areas of Cardiff with their education in English, Maths and Science.
From a modest start with eight children in Red Sea House in Butetown, we have now grown to an attendance of around 60 children each week, spread across our two Learning Clubs at the Yemeni Centre; Key Stage 4 GCSE preparation club in Butetown Community Centre; computer club in the Butetown Pavilion and activity clubs in east Cardiff. Over the five year period we have had registrations from over 400 children.
TLC continues to thrive as we go into our sixth year, and we look forward to many more years of improving the education prospects of children in Cardiff.
